News!
Great news! Voting for Chase the Dream contest started. Whether we place in the top three or the top bottom, the five editors (that’s right — five!) and two agents will read the entries of all eight finalists. This is the best contest!
I’m not going to be Promo-zilla, but if you’d like to vote, it only takes a few seconds. Just vote for GALAXY GIRLS here. One click and it’s done.
This made me laugh, and I thought you’d like it, too, so I stole it from Cindy Procter-King’s blog:
More blog stealing. I found out about Food Historians from Debra Maher’s blog. It’s perfect for historical writers. The site has a food timeline and recipes from before Christ to the present. As Deb says, it’s created by a librarian and is incredibly organized.
I’m about to do edits on a former book before digging into my wip. How is your writing going?

Hi Edie,
I just received pingback notification of the theft! I thieved the video from Facebook, and have been sending it all over the place. He’s so cute.
My writing has not been progressing this week. Drafted a scene, decided it didn’t work, drafted a replacement. Slept on it. Decided the first scene might work, began revisions, got sick. Late yesterday afternoon I realized the reason I couldn’t focus is I seem to have caught some kind of flu bug. I’ve been drinking water non-stop, and hope it’s just a one-day thing. My son has two very important mid-terms tomorrow, and I hope he doesn’t catch this from me, because he needs to be able to focus for these exams. Gack.

Cindy, being sick isn’t fun. At least you know it’s not your writing, it’s your body.
Hope you feel better soon and that your son doesn’t catch it.

LOL! Jazzy music! Wonder if I could get Gas to memorize the lyrics…not a chance!
I clicked, Edie! Good Luck!

Lainey, thanks! My husband wouldn’t memorize those lyrics either.

All voted, Edie! I came out of blog exile just for you.
My writing is meh, thanks to school. Have a paper to begin, so that’s where all my writing is going.
Good luck on the WIP!

I’ve barely written in the past two weeks. I really don’t have time to write in the next few weeks, but I MUST. Oh god, I can’t tell you, there is just SO much to do! We’ll get there, though, one step at a time.
I am going back to my daily writing tonight, and I’m going to the doctor tomorrow, finally!
March 5th, 2009 at 1:44 pm
PS: CONGRATULATIONS! And I totally voted, of course!

Kath, thanks! Good luck on your paper. Right now that’s important to you. Your book won’t go away. (My mom always said that!
)

Spy, you and me, both. Only my non-writing period was way longer than two weeks. And one step at a time is the only way to go.
I hope the doctor finds out it’s something easy to fix. One pill and you’re full of energy and good cheer.
I’m ssending you healthy vibes. And thanks for your vote!

Thanks for the link, Edie. I voted for you, of course
. Congrats and good luck. My last few days have been a mad scramble to get a synopsis together, and I’ve been really sick with flu, so things are much, much slower than I’d like them to be.
March 5th, 2009 at 7:46 pm
Michelle, I didn’t know you had the flu. That’s awful. I hope your kids don’t have it too. Hugs. I’m sending healthy vibes to your house.

Edie, I voted for you! And I actually wrote some good stuff today!
March 5th, 2009 at 8:23 pm
Karin, YAY on writing the good stuff! Some days even writing bad stuff deserves a YAY.
And thanks!

I am off to vote! Congrats, Edie!
March 6th, 2009 at 7:50 am
Cindy, thanks!

Congrats and good luck, Edie! This week I got a little writing done, but not as much as I would’ve liked. It’s been busy with family stuff, but hopefully that will quiet done some (yeah, right, who am I kidding?) so that next week I can write more! Have a wonderful weekend!
March 6th, 2009 at 8:47 am
Robin, maybe we’ll both get more writing done next week. I hope.
You have a wonderful weekend too. And thanks for the good luck!

Hey Edie, I voted for ya!
Congrats on making the final too, very exciting. I had a busier than usual week, but it was family fun so I’m totally good with that.
